Green Goodness Smoothie
Can you imagine summer without smoothies? Not me! I actually love to make them year round. They are so quick and easy to prepare, versatile, a wonderful vitamin and mineral fix for your body, and perfect for kids too! The green smoothie is one of my summer favorites, because it’s so light and refreshing. Ready to enjoy in 5 minutes!
You will need:
- a good quality blender, best high speed (it needs to be able to deal with ice cubes!!!)
Ingredients:
- 1 big ripe(!) mango, peeled and pitted
- 2 fresh kale leaves, stalks removed
- 1 lemon, peeled
- 2 1/2 cups ice cubes
- 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup
Preparation:
Throw all your ingredients into the blender. Start with one Tbsp maple syrup, you can always add more. Blend on high for about 1/2 to 1 minute, using your tamper to push everything down to the blades. Turn off your machine. Pour the green goodness into glasses, garnish with slices of lemon and kale, enjoy!
Notes:
- This recipe yields about 3 servings
- Some like it sweet, some like it tart! Adjust to whatever you prefer!
- You can also try and substitute one cup of ice cubes with one cup of coconut water. A healthy and yummy addition 🙂
